Any forum member here have experience with this Healtech product?
No but I've been researching a bit and possibly getting one in the future. You got the right one. I presume it can be set to lock to any stock gear map 1-6 or N and shut off if you want (7 ATRE + Bypass). This alone makes it better than going with a normal TRE like Ivan's which only locks to one map and locks the gear indicator too + they can't usually be switched off unless you rig that up yourself.
It's a nicer gear indicator than stock. You can try each gear map to see how the ignition cut effects power in all gears. Your fueling will be locked to one gear map which is better in most cases. There's no adjustment/gear made to fueling by the ECU so your tune is consistent in all gears. I am sure you are going to lock into N, 5 or 6, N should reduce backtorque and remove all timing restriction. 5 or 6 will just derestrict timing.
I would stick it right over the stock gear indicator. Please show pics and give a review.
Damn, Mike--you're doing it the old school way with that Gen2 but I like that! You can get a flash to take out the timing restriction but then how do you know the flasher knows the proper adjustments to derestrict timing in all gears----and do they lock to one gear map??????? Questions most don't even want to ask. I prefer to do it the old way and learn WTH I'm doing to the bike. If I keep to this and get a new bike, I'll get a full flash kit with software but for my Gen1, I'm going old school.
The busa has ECU Editor and that cost me 250 dollars! Not for the 14 though. I still have not played with ECUE but that will be my first step into flashing.
